James P. Brown has a record of success for Bracy Tucker
Brown & Valanzano clients on Capitol Hill and in statehouses. An authority
on both transportation and urban issues, he assists clients with transportation
grants and provides invaluable assistance to municipalities and local
government entities confronting compliance issues. He has also represented
both public-sector interests and major corporations before federal and
state legislators and agencies on issues such as environmental compliance,
mitigation issues, adherence to regulatory procedures and transportation
and transit policies.
A former journalist, Mr. Brown also possesses an extensive
background in public affairs and grassroots advocacy. He has served as
Press Secretary and Special Assistant to the Secretary of Transportation,
as chief of staff to a Member of Congress and as a news editor and reporter
in a major media market.
Within our local government practice, which he heads,
Mr. Brown is a consultant to the cities of St. Louis and Atlanta and
to the St. Louis Airport and Transit and Port Authorities. He is also
a consultant to Chrysler Corporation and other companies and is president
of Brown and Associates in St. Louis, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bracy
Tucker Brown & Valanzano.
He is the co-author of Era of Challenge, a book which bridged
the generation gap in its examination of the Vietnam War. In addition,
he has been a lecturer at St. Louis Webster University.
